Your Beliefs Dictate Your Behavior
If you have a calling on your life
and a sense of how God wired you
there will be resistance.
That should not surprise you.
The devil has a job description.
Steal.
Kill.
Destroy.
The last thing he wants
is for you to be clear about your calling
and moving powerfully in it.
That is why fear shows up.
That is why old lies resurface.
That is why familiar roadblocks appear again.
We are not afraid of the devil.
He has already been defeated.
But we give him ground
when we forget who we are
and whose we are.
That is how roadblocks form.
One of the most helpful things you can do
is identify what is in the way.
A big part of how I coach people
is simply helping remove roadblocks.
Get things out of the way
so they can move forward.
One of the most powerful tools for that
is identifying the lies you believe.
Some are new.
Some are old.
Some you know are not true
but they still have influence.
And here is something important to remember.
Just because you overcame something before
does not mean it will never try to come back.
Old battlefields
are easy places to attack.
Another challenge
is becoming aware of what you did not know was there.
Growth can feel overwhelming
when you realize
there may be things inside you
that shaped your behavior
without your awareness.
But awareness is not the enemy.
Unaddressed lies are.
Our beliefs shape our behavior.
And if a belief is not true
it can quietly keep you stuck.
So we do two things.
First
we identify the lie.
We name it.
We bring it into the light.
Second
we replace it with truth.
Not positive thinking.
Truth.
We go to Scripture.
We find what God says.
And we form an identity statement.
A declarative statement.
Something you stand on.
Something you repeat.
And every time that lie shows up
you know exactly what to do with it.
This Week’s Challenge
Identify one lie you have believed
about yourself
your calling
or your current situation.
Then find truth in Scripture
that directly counters it.
Write an identity statement
and say it out loud.
That truth is a weapon.
Use it.
Now let’s go win the week!
