You Need the People You Resist
It is a gift
to be a positive thinker.
To see the upside.
To believe it will work.
To go for it.
That works
when it works.
But when it does not
it really does not.
Most of us
naturally think one way.
Best case scenario.
Optimistic.
Vision driven.
And that is a strength.
But it is not the only strength you need.
For a long time
I did not value
critical thinkers.
People who asked hard questions.
People who slowed things down.
People who saw risk.
I called them
dream killers.
But I was wrong.
They were not killing the dream.
They were protecting it.
I had a moment
that changed everything.
I brought an idea
to someone I trusted.
They started asking
a lot of questions.
Hard questions.
And in my mind
I thought
Why are you trying to shut this down
Then they said something
I will never forget.
I believe in this idea.
I want it to work.
I am asking these questions
because I see things
you are not considering.
And I want this to go well.
That shifted everything.
What I thought was resistance
was actually partnership.
What I thought was criticism
was actually care.
Now I do not move forward
without those people.
Because I know
I have blind spots.
We all do.
God is kind enough
to surround us with people
who are strong
where we are not.
But let’s not miss this.
There is One
who sees perfectly.
Not just perspective.
Perfect knowledge.
God.
His ways are higher.
His thoughts are higher.
He does not guess.
He knows.
Wise counsel from others
is a gift.
But the first place we go
is to Him.
Direct access.
Direct communication.
That is a supernatural advantage.
And yes
He will often use people
to speak into your life.
But do not skip
going to Him first.
So now
we do both.
We seek God.
And we invite people.
And we ask better questions.
What am I missing?
What am I not considering?
Those questions
build better plans.
They build stronger outcomes.
They turn ideas
into reality.
The people you once resisted
may be the ones
you need most.
This Week’s Challenge
Think about something
you are building right now.
An idea.
A goal.
A plan.
First
take it to God.
Ask Him
what am I missing
Then
take it to someone you trust.
Ask them the same question.
Listen.
That is how your vision gets stronger.
Now let’s go win the week!
