Mature People Hold Tension
It is good that you recognize your weakness.
Because it keeps you looking to God as your strength.
That is not weakness.
That is wisdom.
Most people think abundant life means health, wealth, and everything going their way.
But that is not it.
Abundant life is living in continual dependence on God.
Not control.
Dependence.
We like plans.
We like structure.
We like knowing how things are going to go.
And there is wisdom in that.
Set goals.
Make plans.
Be intentional.
But do not get locked into your own plan.
Because God may want to do something different.
Instead of trying to force your day into a perfect mold...
Be aware.
Pay attention.
Look for what God is doing.
And join Him there.
That is where freedom is.
That is where joy is.
That is where peace is.
Here is what makes this challenging.
Two things can be true at the same time.
You can be content and still desire more.
You can plan and still surrender.
You can act with intention and still be flexible.
This is the tension.
And this is where maturity happens.
Immature people pick one side.
Mature people learn to hold both.
To plan and to trust.
To move and to listen.
To act and to adjust.
Sometimes things will not go your way.
Sometimes God will redirect you.
The question is not did your plan work perfectly.
The question is were you present and responsive to Him.
Because when you stay connected to Him you will find peace.
Not in perfect outcomes.
But in His presence.
This Week’s Challenge
Where in your life are you trying to control everything?
And where might God be asking you to trust Him more?
Make your plan.
Then hold it loosely.
Stay aware.
Stay open.
Stay responsive.
That is where peace lives.
Now let’s go win the week!
