Impostor Syndrome and Real Authority
A lot of people feel a calling on their life.
But almost immediately
impostor syndrome shows up.
Who am I to do this
Am I really ready
What if I am not enough
That is not a stop sign.
It is usually a sign you are headed in the right direction.
Anytime you step toward your calling
you will meet resistance.
It will feel both exciting
and terrifying.
The excitement comes from alignment.
Your gifting.
Your passions.
God’s will.
It makes you come alive.
You can see the impact.
The fear usually comes from the how.
How is this going to work
How will I fund it
How will this all come together
Here is the key.
Faith.
God rarely gives full details
before asking for obedience.
If you had certainty
you would not need faith.
And you would not need Him.
But faith does not mean reckless.
Get aligned with God.
Seek wise counsel.
Count the cost.
Then go.
Even without perfect clarity.
That is courage.
And here is what happens in that process.
You develop authority.
Not title authority.
Not letters next to your name.
Moral authority.
Authority that comes from experience.
From walking through something.
From overcoming something.
It is speaking from what you have lived.
From what you actually know.
If you move forward with humility
and a desire to follow your calling
you are not an impostor.
You are a steward.
And stewards grow into the authority
their calling requires.
This Week’s Challenge
Identify one thing you feel called to do
that fear has been holding you back from.
Not the biggest step.
Not the final outcome.
Just the next faithful step.
Take it this week.
Even if it feels small.
Even if you do not feel ready.
Faith grows when you move.
Now let’s go win the week!
