Dare to Be Different
Your calling is supposed to be different
We are all called.
Every single one of us.
And no calling
is more important than another.
The way you are called
will light you up.
It will energize you.
It will excite you.
It will make you come alive.
And here is the funny part.
Not everyone will feel that way about it.
You will tell someone
what you feel called to do
And they will say
Wow.
I am glad you are called to that.
Because I never want to do that.
Good.
That means it is probably yours.
Your calling is supposed to be different.
But here is where it can get hard.
Sometimes when you share your calling
you do not get encouragement.
You get doubt.
You get confusion.
You get fear.
People are messy.
And yet
we still need people.
You cannot fulfill your calling alone.
None of us can.
That is why it matters
who you surround yourself with.
Find people who are living called.
People who encourage you.
People who tell you the truth.
People who bring wisdom.
People who call you up
and call you out.
Because here is the truth.
As believers
we all share the same calling.
Love God.
Love others.
Make disciples.
That is our shared mission.
But how you live that out
will look different than anyone else.
That is where your individuality comes in.
Your wiring.
Your gifts.
Your experiences.
They shape how your calling
shows up in the world.
Sometimes people get nervous about calling.
What if God calls me somewhere crazy
like a remote village?
But here is the truth.
If God calls you there
that is exactly where you will come alive.
That is where your impact will be greatest.
Your calling is not supposed to look
like someone else's.
We are one body.
Many members.
And every part matters.
Your calling does not have to look
like someone else's.
It cannot.
Because we need it to be different.

Ask yourself this question.
What is the thing
that lights me up?
Pay attention to that.
God often places your calling
at the intersection of
what brings you alive
and what serves others.
Do not compare your calling.
Live it.
